After spending the majority of his life experimenting with different forms of design and artistic expression, Rick is enjoying his current work with mixed media compositions.  Being relatively new to the professional art scene has given him an open canvas to create his visions using a variety of different techniques.  He has maintained his love for the abstract form and now continues to refine his current style using elements inspired by nature.

The majority of his work incorporates recycled elements that are aged by naturally-occurring processes. His new expression involves the merger of creating artistic pieces with the challenge of rejuvenating elements discarded by society as useless or no longer aesthetically pleasing into works of art.

Having traveled to over 70 different countries, the majority of Rick's compositions take on a hint of contemporary international flavor. Having spent time in both Asia and Africa it appears the essence, vision and ambiance of both locales seep into his artwork.

As a graduate from UCLA with a degree in mathematics, angular symmetry, linear structure and geometric shapes are noticeably pervasive in his current work. Rick looks forward to blurring the boundaries between structure and artistic fluidity in his future works.
